Thomas Watson-Wentworth, 1st Marquess of Rockingham, KB, PC (I) (13 November 1693 – 14 December 1750) of Wentworth Woodhouse, Yorkshire was a British Whig politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1715 until 1728 when he was raised to the Peerage as Baron Malton .
A descendant of the 1st Earl of Strafford, Lord Rockingham was the second son of Thomas Watson-Wentworth, 1st Marquess of Rockingham and Lady Mary Finch, daughter of 7th Earl of Winchilsea, he was brought up at the family lavish home of Wentworth Woodhouse near Rotherham [1] in Yorkshire . He was educated at Westminster School. [2]

Marquess of Rockingham, KG, PC (* 13. Mai 1730 im Wentworth Woodhouse bei Rotherham, England; † 1. Juli 1782 in London, England) war ein britischer Politiker der Whig-Partei und zweimaliger Premierminister des Vereinigten Königreichs. 1750 wurde er zum Earl Malton in der Peerage of Ireland erhoben, noch im selben Jahr folgte er seinem Vater nach dessen Tode in seine Titel nach.
