16 de oct. de 2023 · Tycho Brahe (1546-1601) was a Danish nobleman who made the most significant contribution to our knowledge of astronomy before the telescope arrived. He discovered a supernova, observed the elliptical interplanetary orbit of a comet, updated the accuracy of the calendar, and proposed a whole new theory of the positions of the heavenly bodies in the night sky.
3 de jul. de 2019 · Eventually, Brahe was removed from his beloved observatory. In 1597, Emperor Rudolf II of Bohemia intervened and offered Brahe a pension of 3,000 ducats and an estate near Prague, where he planned to construct a new Uraniborg. Unfortunately, Tycho Brahe fell ill and died in 1601 before construction was complete.

Tycho Ottesen Brahe (December 14, 1546 - October 24, 1601) was a great Danish astronomer, considered the founder of modern observing astronomy. He was born on Knudstrup Castle outside Landskrona in the then Danish Scania, and died in Prague.
