CARPEGNA, Ulderico. Birth. May 25, 1595 (1), Scavolino, Montefeltro, diocese of Ferrara. Of a noble Roman family. Son of Count Tommaso Carpegna di Carpegna, and Vittoria Landriana, from Milan. Brother of Pietro di Carpegna, bishop of Gubbio (1628-1630). Uncle of Cardinal Sebastiano Antonio Tanara (1695).
Cardinalate. Created cardinal priest in the consistory of December 22, 1670; granted dispensation for having a cousin in the Sacred College of Cardinals, on that same day. Received the red hat and the title of S. Agostino, February 23, 1671. Prefect of the S.C. of Ecclesiastical Immunity from 1671 until his death.
