Founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Woodeyar IV (the Maharaja of Mysore) in 1916, the University of Mysore is a public state university based in Mysore, Karnataka in India. It was the first university set up outside of the British administration in India, the sixth in India and the first in Karnataka.
