Charles Van Dell Johnson (August 25, 1916 [citation needed] – December 12, 2008) was an American film, television, theatre and radio actor. He was a major star at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer during and after World War II.

Johnson’s clean-cut good looks and easygoing “boy-next-door” charm made him.
Van Johnson is a Navy pilot in WWII who has been shot down in the Pacific on a bombing mission. He and a wounded comrade are the only survivors and are lost at sea. As they await rescue, Van Johnson recounts his life story and romance with girlfriend June Allyson.
