9 de may. de 2024 · Charles Beauclerk, 1st duke of Saint Albans (born May 8, 1670, London, England—died May 10, 1726, Bath, Somerset) was the illegitimate son of Charles II, the elder of two illegitimate sons born to Nell Gwyn, an English actress. Charles Beauclerk was created Baron Heddington and earl of Burford in 1676 and duke of St. Albans in 1684.

No "suitable" claimant came forward, and one of the oldest titles in the peerage of England came to its end. Aubrey de Vere, 1st Earl of Oxford, received his title from the Empress Matilda in 1141.

Sir Thomas Chamber, of this family, purchased the manor of Hanworth in 1670; his son Thomas Chamber, Esq. who died in 1736, left two daughters, coheiresses, the elder of whom brought Hanworth to Lord Vere Beauclerk.
4 de may. de 2024 · Fairfax married Hon. Anne de Vere, daughter of Horace Vere, 1st Baron Vere of Tilbury and Mary Tracy, on 20 June 1637. They had a daughter, Hon. Mary Fairfax (30 July 1638 – 20 October 1704), who married George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham.
