Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna of Russia (born Princess Victoria Melita of Edinburgh; 25 November 1876 – 2 March 1936), was the third child and second daughter of Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia.
Victoria Melita de Sajonia-Coburgo y Gotha (Attard, 25 de noviembre de 1876 - Amorbach, 2 de marzo de 1936), fue gran duquesa consorte de Hesse y el Rin desde 1894 hasta 1901, como primera esposa del gran duque Ernesto Luis.
Alexandra had four siblings: Alfred, Marie, Victoria Melita, and Beatrice (her only younger sibling). Throughout her life, Alexandra was usually overshadowed by her elder sisters; she was considered less beautiful and more subdued than Marie and Victoria Melita.
On 19 April 1894, at Schloss Ehrenburg, Ernest Louis married his maternal first cousin, Princess Victoria Melita of Edinburgh nicknamed "Ducky", the daughter of his mother's brother, Prince Alfred. The match was actively encouraged by their mutual grandmother, Queen Victoria, who attended the wedding.
