Vincent Arthur Smith CIE (3 June 1843 – 6 February 1920) was an Irish Indologist, historian, member of the Indian Civil Service, and curator. He was one of the prominent figures in Indian historiography during the British Raj.

Smith, Vincent Arthur (1848–1920), Indian civil servant, historian, and writer, was born 3 June 1848 in Dublin, fifth son of Aquilla Smith (qv), physician, professor in the School of Physic and antiquarian, of Dublin and Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, and his wife Esther (d. 18 February 1850), daughter of George Faucett.
