Hace 5 días · WADHAM COLLEGE Circumstances Of The Foundation. Nicholas Wadham, the founder of this college, was born in 1532 of a good Somerset family of Merifield, near Ilminster, and was educated at Oxford, at either Corpus Christi or Christ Church.

One third of the manor passed to Joan, wife of Giles Strangways (d. 1562) and descended successively to two grandsons, Giles (d. 1623) and Sir John Strangways (d. 1666).
