A good 50 years after the invention of porcelain by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus and Johann Friedrich Böttger, Wolfgang Hammann from Katzhütte and his son founded the Wallendorfer porcelain factory on March 30, 1764, after he was granted the license to manufacture porcelain in the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg.

Dies dürfte dann im Jahre 1967 gewesen sein. In drei Ausstellungsräumen wurden unter der Überschrift "Modernes Wallendorfer Porzellan" reizvolle dünnwandige Mokkaservice und Gewürzmenagen, Schalen, Vasen und Dosen moderner Formgebung, Kleinplastiken nach Werken von Bildhauern, Reliefs und Medaillons ausgestellt.
The Wallendorfer Porzellan-Manufaktur has always been committed to the traditional art of manufacturing. The production program includes the artisanal production of tea, coffee and chocolate services (since 1764), figurative representations (since 1785) as well as various decorative and basket series.
