Hace 6 días · Born Penelope Devereux at Chartley Castle in Staffordshire, she was the elder daughter of Walter Devereux, 2nd Viscount Hereford, later 1st Earl of Essex and Lettice Knollys, daughter of Sir Francis Knollys and Catherine Carey, and sister of William Knollys, later 1st Earl of Banbury.

Walter Devereux, Viscount Hereford, sold it in that year to Sir James Dyer, chief justice of the Queen's Bench, the purchaser of the other two purparties of Roger de Quincy's manor, which from this time were reunited.
24 de abr. de 2024 · His viscountcy devolved on Walter Devereux, who was a younger grandson of the 1st viscount and cousin to the 1st Earl of Essex. His death led to a large display of mourning. Parliament contributed £5,000 to the expenses of his funeral and he was buried in Westminster Abbey .

It is bound with the commonplace book of Nicolas Hanslopp (ff. 22r-75v). The first poem in the collection is the same as that of Osborn a5, "The Foure-Fould Meditations," by Philip Howard, Earl of Arundel.
