The next great addition to the Abbey was the construction of a magnificent new Lady Chapel by Henry VII between 1503 and 1519 to replace the 13th century chapel. This was consecrated on 19th February 1516. The Perpendicular architecture here is in total contrast to the rest of the Abbey.

30 de oct. de 2023 · There were 80–100 people in the abbey when the bomb containing nuts and bolts exploded. Mercifully no one was seriously injured by the flying shrapnel. The abbey was one of over 30 churches targeted by suffragettes. Two days after the Westminster Abbey blast, a bomb was discovered in St. Paul's Cathedral, London.
