On 13th May Thomas Cranmer, now Archbishop of Canterbury, pronounced Henry’s marriage to Catherine null and void. The birth of Henry and Anne’s daughter Elizabeth in September 1533, prompted a new Act of Succession which excluded Mary from and settled the succession on the children of Henry and Anne.
