Major-General William Craven, 1st Earl of Craven (28 September 1770 – 30 July 1825) was a British soldier. Early life. William Craven, 1st Earl of Craven, by Anne Mee née Foldsone. Craven was the eldest son of William Craven, 6th Baron Craven, and his wife Lady Elizabeth Berkeley.

The first creation came in the Peerage of England in 1664 in favour of the soldier William Craven, 1st Baron Craven, the eldest son of Sir William Craven, Lord Mayor of London in 1610. He was made Viscount Craven , of Uffington in the County of Berkshire, at the same time.
