William Craven, 2nd Earl of Craven DL (18 August 1809 – 25 August 1866), styled Viscount Uffington until 1825, was a British peer.

A Royalist during the English Civil Wars, Craven provided considerable financial.

1608-1697. Biography. Army officer and royal servant. Eldest son of Sir William Craven and his wife Elizabeth, who was the daughter of another London William Whitmore. Created Baron Craven, of Hampstead-Marshall, co. Berks on 4 March 1627.
Born: June 1608 at Bishopsgate, London. Baron Craven of Hamstead Marshall. Viscount Craven of Uffington. Earl of Craven. Died: 9th April 1697 at Drury House, Drury Lane, London. William was the eldest son of Sir William Craven Senior, a city magnate, and Elizabeth Whitmore, the daughter of a London Alderman.
On the Earl of Craven's death in 1697, the barony of 1627 and the viscountcy and earldom became extinct. However, he was succeeded in the barony of 1665 according to the special remainder by his kinsman William Craven, the second Baron. He was the son of the aforesaid Sir William Craven, son of Thomas Craven.
