10 de abr. de 2024 · William Henry Cavendish Bentinck, 3rd duke of Portland was a British prime minister from April 2 to Dec. 19, 1783, and from March 31, 1807, to Oct. 4, 1809; on both occasions he was merely the nominal head of a government controlled by stronger political leaders. The eldest son of William, 2nd Duke.

He served as chancellor of the University of Oxford (1792–1809) and as Prime Minister of Great Britain (1783) and then of the United Kingdom (1807–1809).
