13 de feb. de 2023 · William Henry Harrison was an important historical figure because he served as the 9th President of the United States (1841), but his presidency was brief, lasting only 31 days. Harrison was a military hero, having served in the War of 1812 and the Battle of Tippecanoe, and was the first president to be elected from the newly formed Whig Party.

William Henry Harrison caught a serious case of pneumonia, and on April 4 that same year he died. He was the first president to die in office. [2] Harrison was the oldest president to take office at 68 years, 23 days, until it was outdone in 1981 by Ronald Reagan who assumed the presidency at the age of 69.
