William de Braose, ( alias Breuse, Brewes, Brehuse, [1] Briouze, Brewose etc.; c. 1224 –1291) was the first Baron Braose, as well as Lord of Gower and Lord of Bramber. [2] Family and early life. William de Braose (c. 1197 - 2 May 1230) was the son of Reginald de Braose by his first wife, Grecia de Briwere (born 1186) from Stoke in Devon.
