Emperor Yingzong of Ming (Chinese: 明英宗; pinyin: Míng Yīngzōng; 29 November 1427 – 23 February 1464), personal name Zhu Qizhen (simplified Chinese: 朱祁镇; traditional Chinese: 朱祁鎮; pinyin: Zhū Qízhèn), was the sixth and eighth emperor of the Ming dynasty.

Zhu Qizhen was allowed to return to Beijing after agreeing to give up his claim to the throne, and was kept under house arrest at the Forbidden City. Esen faced growing criticism for his failure to exploit his victory over the Ming and was assassinated in 1455. Zhu Qizhen retook the throne in 1457, after deposing his brother in a military coup.

Zhu Qizhen (1427 – 1464) was the favorite son of the Xuande Emperor who ruled Ming China from 1425 to 1435. When his father died in 1435, Zhu Qizhen took the throne as the Zhengtong Emperor. Only eight years old, the young monarch benefited from an experienced court to guide him in his new role.
Emperor Yingzong of Ming, personal name Zhu Qizhen, was the sixth and eighth emperor of the Ming dynasty. He ruled as the Zhengtong Emperor from 1435 to 1449, and as the Tianshun Emperor from 1457 until his death in 1464.
