Hace 1 día · Named in honour of Queen Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, wife of King William IV, the city was founded in 1836 as the planned capital for the only freely-settled British province in Australia. Colonel William Light , one of Adelaide's founding fathers, designed the city centre and chose its location close to the River Torrens .
20 de abr. de 2024 · One of them, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn (1767–1820) proposed to Victoria and she accepted. The couple were married on 29 May 1818 at Amorbach and on 11 July 1818 at Kew, a joint ceremony at which Edward's brother, the Duke of Clarence, later King William IV, married Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen.

En este caso me refiero a la novela El caballero de Sajonia de Juan Benet, publicada en 1991, poco más de un año antes de la muerte del escritor madrileño, y uno de sus libros menos conocidos.

Early in her career, she was a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance; she became based in the UK after 1938.
