17 de abr. de 2015 · The caretaker found Al Bowlly on the floor by the side of his bed killed outright by the door of his room smashing on his head from the blast of the parachute bomb. Two friends of Bowlly’s also lived in the same apartment block.
Al Bowlly (7 de enero de 1898 – 17 de abril de 1941) fue un popular guitarrista de jazz, cantante y crooner, cuya carrera inició en el Reino Unido y prosiguió en los Estados Unidos en la década de 1930, haciendo más de 1000 grabaciones entre 1927 y 1941.

Personal life and death. In December 1931, Bowlly married Constance Freda Roberts (died 1934) in St Martin's Register Office, London; the couple separated after a fortnight and sought a divorce. He remarried in December 1934 to Marjie Fairless; this marriage lasted until his death.

17 de abr. de 2014 · Bowlly was given a funeral at a Greek Orthodox Cathedral in London and buried in Hanwell Cemetery in a mass grave for bombing victims. Al Bowlly and Elsie Carlisle sang a duet of “My Baby Just Cares For Me” in a medley in 1932:
