Albert Street (Latvian: Alberta iela) is a street in central Riga known for its Art Nouveau buildings. It was built in 1901 and named after Bishop Albert, who founded Riga in 1201.

Alberta Street is regarded as Riga’s Art Nouveau gem, since it is full of splendid historical Art Nouveau-style buildings from one end to the other. The area was erected in a short period of time – from 1901 to 1908, each of the buildings standing alone as an inimitable 20th century architectural achievement.

Sobre el plano, Alberta iela parece una modesta calle más. Una calle ni ancha ni estrecha de apenas 250 metros de longitud, a unos 15 minutos a pie del centro histórico de Riga. Sin embargo al entrar en ella uno descubre la que debe ser la calle más genuínamente modernista del mundo.
10 de ene. de 2023 · In the very heart of Riga, just a 250 meters short street is located. It's called Alberta and somehow is iconic and interesting enough to deserve a tour of its own. The street was laid here to honor the 700th birthday of the city and was built in just two years.
