Después de la muerte de su madre, Adam Albert se casaría con la Archiduquesa María Luisa de Habsburgo-Lorena, la viuda de Napoleón e hija del emperador Francisco II, adquiriendo así el título de Conde de Neipperg. Su hermano mayor era el Conde Alfred von Neipperg.
