Astroboy fue un manga creado por Ozamu Tezuka, considerado uno de los mangakas más influyentes en la historia de Japón. Debido al gran éxito del manga, Mushi Productions decidió producir la primera adaptación al anime en 1963.
El anime llegó a ser doblado al español latino dos veces en la década de los 70s, uno realizado en Puerto Rico y otro realizado en Argentina. De lo que se sabe, el doblaje puertorriqueño tuvo a Esperanzita Martínez como Astroboy y a Félix Antelo en el papel de el Dr. Elefun. Mientras que en el doblaje argentino sólo se tiene registrado a Cecilia Gispert como Astrita y a Ricardo Lani como parte de las voces adicionales.
A pesar de haberse realizado dos doblajes, se tienen pocos clips disponibles. Sólo se halla un capítulo con el doblaje puertorriqueño.
