The style used across Boxer Rebellion is entirely typical of Basquiat, with his figures created from relatively simple lines, with only the occasional solid form.

29 de abr. de 2024 · The Boxer Rebellion, also known as the Yihetuan Movement, was a significant uprising that took place in China from 1899 to 1901. It was a violent response by a group of Chinese nationalists, known as the Boxers, against foreign influence in their country.
It depends how long you actually still have to work on this essay. Joseph Esherick's The Origins of the Boxer Uprising, being what it says on the tin, will probably be what you're looking for as a main framing source, but it is a very dense and in some respects quite sociologically-focussed work.

3 de may. de 2024 · In 1900-01, the Righteous and Harmonious Fists rose against foreign occupiers and Christian missionaries in China. Although this uprising, known in the West as the Boxer Rebellion due to the martial arts and calisthenics practiced by the rebels, originally opposed the Manchu Qing Dynasty, the Empress Dowager Cixi gained control of the rebellion and tried to use it against the foreign powers.
