Prince Carl Philip was christened by Archbishop Olof Sundby in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace on 31 August 1979. His godparents were Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Prince Bertil, Princess Birgitta and Prince Leopold of Bavaria.
