Hace 5 días · King Casimir IV of Poland granted the area as a fief to the dukes of Pomerania and after the death of the last Duke Bogislaw XIV in 1637 the towns were re-integrated with Poland and included in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

He built extensively during his reign, and reformed the Polish army along with the country's legal code, 1333–70. The transition from paganism in Poland was not instantaneous and resulted in the pagan reaction of the 1030s.
