Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk. Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk ( c. 1484 – 22 August 1545) was an English military leader and courtier. Through his third wife, Mary Tudor, he was brother-in-law to King Henry VIII .

He was a prominent courtier during his reign. His father, William Brandon, died fighting for Henry Tudor (later King Henry VII) in 1485.
