Description. Princess Charlotte's right eye, with blue iris, brown eyebrow and several brown curls painted in miniature and set in a gold serpentine bracelet clasp with six chains of gold links. An eye of Princess Charlotte of Wales by Charlotte Jones (1768-1847) is in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh. (PGL 1279).
Description. Photograph of the memorial to Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales who died in childbirth in 1817. The monument consists of five cowled figures in the throes of mourning positioned at the base. A central figure reaches for the sky with its right arm outstretched and is flanked by two angels, one of whom holds an infant in its arms.

He hailed from the House of Hanover, the German dynasty that reigned in Great Britain (later, in 1801, the United Kingdom) beginning in 1714, after Queen Anne I died without descendants, leaving the thrown to Queen Victoria of Hanover and her cousin, Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
