25 de oct. de 2020 · RECORRIENDO CHERNIVTSI. En su época de esplendor Chernivtsi era una ciudad cosmopolita, y tenía importantes comunidades de judíos, alemanes y rumanos.Pero la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la ocupación soviética fueron devastadoras, y hoy día la población es básicamente ucraniana.
Chernivtsi National University: Aunque no esté en los alrededores de la ciudad, una visita a la Universidad Nacional de Chernivtsi es imprescindible. Este magnífico edificio de estilo arquitectónico austrohúngaro es considerado Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO y alberga una de las universidades más antiguas e importantes de Ucrania.
Chernivtsí o Chernovtsy es una ciudad ucraniana y centro administrativo del óblast de Chernivtsí. Situada en el oeste del país, es el centro del raión de Chernivtsí y del municipio homónimo. Está ubicada en el curso superior del río Prut, un afluente del Danubio, en la parte norte de la región histórica de Bucovina que actualmente se divide entre Ucrania y Rumania.
