As the city of Christchurch began to recover, a need emerged for a temporary venue for worship and events. Renowned architect and 2014 Pritzker Prize winner Shigeru Ban was approached to lend his expertise.

Sus estructuras de tubo de cartón han despertado un enorme interés.

2 de may. de 2024 · The quake-damaged Christ Church Cathedral has opened its doors to members of the public for the first time since the 2011 Canterbury earthquake. Tour parties are being invited to explore the historic Christchurch building.
2 de may. de 2024 · Ban went to the city in February, and by the end of the summer his relief work had brought 22 paper-tube cabins to shelter some of those who had lost their homes and a “paper dome” to temporarily replace a ruined Roman Catholic church.
