Claremont House is a Grade I listed building. Claremont, also known historically as 'Clermont', is an 18th-century Palladian mansion less than a mile south of the centre of Esher in Surrey, England. By 1928 the school outgrew its Norwood home and in December 1930 Claremont House along with 34 acres of grounds was purchased by Clear View School. The school moved to its new home in Esher and formally opened in 1931 with 45 pupils as Claremont School. Claremont School: 1931-1978

The building was designed by Lancelot “Capability” Brown with the help of his future son-in-law Henry Holland, since Brown saw himself more of a landscape designer then an architect.
