I'd dispute the "fake" adjective. The sort of people who use(d) that rhyme would have acquired it verbally from previous generations. If it's originally Welsh or Cornish, it's somehow made its way up as far as Yorkshire in the unrecorded past. And doubtless changed over the years, but then language always does that.
