22 de jul. de 2021 · Crown Estate Scotland has now begun assessing each application against the criteria laid out to applicants. Option fees will then be paid by successful applicants to Crown Estate Scotland in exchange for securing the rights to areas of seabed. The maximum amount payable will be £100,000 per km2 of seabed.

Current offshore wind projects. There are currently seven offshore windfarms operating in Scottish waters, with a total generating capacity of 1.9 GW. Based on the Scottish Government's Renewable Electricity Output Calculator, 1GW of capacity is enough to power more than 560,000 homes.

The review was informed by recommendations from an expert panel, working alongside members of Crown Estate Scotland’s aquaculture team.
