Diane de Poitiers. Diane de Poitiers (n.3 septembrie 1499 - d. 25 aprilie 1566) a fost una din cele mai frumoase și mai inteligente aristocrate pe care le-a avut Franța și se poate spune ca ea a stăpânit cu adevărat țara cât timp a fost metresa regelui Henric al II-lea (deși era mai în vârstă ca el cu 20 de ani).
Diane de Poitiers (3. syyskuuta 1499 – 25. huhtikuuta 1566) oli ranskalainen aatelisnainen ja Frans I:n sekä hänen poikansa kuningas Henrik II:n hovin merkittävä hovinainen. Hänestä tuli kuuluisa kuningas Henrikin rakastajattarena ja tässä asemassa hän nautti suurta vaikutusvaltaa Ranskan hovissa, joka jatkui siihen asti kunnes Henrik loukkasi itsensä kuolettavasti turnajaisissa .

Her mother passed away in 1506, and Diane was placed in the household of Princess Anne of France (the eldest daughter of King Louis XI; she was also known as Anne de Beaujeu and "Madame la Grande").
