Simply put, the tangent universe that Frank the rabbit warns Donnie about is a separate, alternate reality (similar to 2022's Everything Everywhere All At Once, but more singular), that comes into existence at the start of the film.

Il nome dell’unicorno è Ariel, salvato dal principe chiamato Justin in un mondo di magia e meraviglia.

Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, dass Geister in Filmen Warnungen an die Lebenden übermitteln – der Unterschied zu Frank besteht darin, dass er seine Warnung ausspricht, bevor er überhaupt stirbt.
