Photo: Iona Studio, Toronto. During the past 40 years Edwina has created art of international acclaim that includes sculpture and paintings. For the 1979 United Nations’ Year of the Child, she created three different monumental sculptures, installed at UN centers in New York, Geneva and Vienna.
Personal life. She is the eldest daughter and second child of Baron Duncan-Sandys and Diana Churchill, and a granddaughter of the statesman Sir Winston Churchill. [1] She married Piers Dixon in 1960 and they were divorced in 1970. [2] They have two sons, Mark Pierson Dixon (b. 1962) and Hugo Duncan Dixon (b. 1963).

EDWINA SANDYS . During the last 30 years Edwina has created art of international acclaim that includes sculpture, paintings, collage and works on paper. Her work has reached a wide audience far beyond the realm of the private collector.
Edwina is passionate about creating art that is inspired by political issues, as demonstrated by Twin Crosses, commissioned for the US Embassy Residence in Dublin, which incorporates a scarred fragment of the World Trade Center.
