The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology (/ æ ʃ ˈ m oʊ l i ən, ˌ æ ʃ m ə ˈ l iː ən /) on Beaumont Street, Oxford, England, is Britain's first public museum. Its first building was erected in 1678–1683 to house the cabinet of curiosities that Elias Ashmole gave to the University of Oxford in 1677.

El museo Ashmolean es uno de los museos públicos más antiguos del mundo, fundado en 1683. Además es muy conocido por su colección de pinturas italianas. Una de sus colecciones más interesantes son los dibujos: posee del artista alemán Durero , de Rembrand t, de Watteau , de Turner , además de los Nazarenos alemanes y los Prerrafaelitas ingleses.
