  2. In 1617, he married Elizabeth Fisher at St Mary Matfellon Church in Whitechapel, London, and the following year the couple had a daughter they named Damiris. The Mayflower voyage Hopkins worked as a tanner and merchant, and was recruited by the Company of Merchant Adventurers of London to provide governance for Plymouth Colony and to assist with its ventures.

He traveled with his second wife, Elizabeth (Fisher) Hopkins, and children Constanta, Giles and Damaris. Elizabeth was pregnant during the voyage and gave birth to a son Oceanus while at sea.

She married Stephen Hopkins on 19 February 1617/8 at St. Mary Matfellon, Whitechapel, and had a daughter Damaris born somewhere in England around 1618. They had their second child, Oceanus, onboard the Mayflower as it was traveling to America.
