Queen Victoria led the Royal Guests and Relatives from around Europe at the Wedding of her two grandchildren, Grand Duke Ernest Louis of Hesse and Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, at Schloss Ehrenburg in Coburg on this day in 1894, 130 years ago.
Hace 4 días · Grand Duke Ernest Louis was a great supporter of the arts and, unlike most other German monarchs, also of modern art, especially the Judendstil (Art Nouveau). As a grandson of Queen Victoria, he had become familiar with the Arts and Crafts Movement during his visits to England.
