Alexander worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 until 2001 and he also founded his own label in 1992. Sadly, he died by suicide on February 11, 2010 in London.

The musician, who lived on on Gladstone Avenue in Feltham, later used these skills to design Queen's heraldic arms.
