  5. Frederiksborg Castle. King Frederik II gave his name to the place, but it was his son Christian IV who built the Renaissance castle in 1600-1621. Frederiksborg Castle burned down in 1859, but was rebuilt and furnished as a museum on the initiative of the founder of the Carlsberg brewery.
