26 de nov. de 2020 · Die Fregatte BREMEN ist an ihrem Liegeplatz im Marinearsenal in bester Gesellschaft. Zwei Jahre zuvor war dort mit Wirkung zum 31. März 2012 die Fregatte KÖLN außer Dienst gestellt worden, gefolgt von der Fregatte RHEINLAND-PFALZ am 22. März 2013 und der Fregatte EMDEN am 29. November 2013. Bis dahin war es ein langer Weg.

Rheinland-Pfalz took part in Operation Active Endeavour in the Mediterranean in 2005, and in 2006 joined the South African naval exercises Good Hope II. In early 2009 she was briefly once more part of Operation Active Endeavour, before departing for the waters off the Horn of Africa to participate in Operation Atalanta , combatting piracy off the coast of Somalia .

Die Deutsche Marine hat am Mittwoch mit der Fregatte „Rheinland-Pfalz“ (F 225) nunmehr die letzte Einheit der Klasse 125 („Baden-Württemberg“-Klasse) offiziell übernommen. Das Indienststellungszeremoniell fand am Mittwoch im Marinestützpunkt Wilhelmshaven, zugleich der neue Heimathafen des Kriegsschiffes, statt.
