Frogmore House. A favourite royal retreat for more than 300 years. Frogmore House is currently closed to visitors. Standing in the Home Park of Windsor Castle, the gardens at Frogmore House have been an enduring attraction for monarchs and their families since the house was purchased by Queen Charlotte in 1790.
Coordinates: 51°28′27″N 0°35′39″W. Frogmore House is a 17th-century English country house owned by the Crown Estate. It is a historic Grade I listed building. The house is located on the Frogmore estate, which is situated within the grounds of the Home Park in Windsor, Berkshire.

Hace 6 días · Frogmore Mausoleums. The Mausoleum of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stands on the west side of the gardens at Frogmore House. The Queen and Prince had long planned to have a mausoleum, and within four days of Prince Albert's death in December 1861 The Queen had chosen a site.
Frogmore House and grounds. Frogmore House was built in the 1680s and in 1792 the house and estate were bought by George III for his wife Queen Charlotte, although the land had formed part of the Windsor royal hunting ground since the reign of Henry VIII. [1] .

The gardens were created in the 1790s by Queen Charlotte's Vice-Chamberlain, Major William Price, and by the Rev. Christopher Alderson of Derbyshire. Before that time the gardens had been flat, with no ornamental water. Price and Alderson created the winding lakes, wooded mounds, glades, walks and bridges in the Picturesque style.

Frogmore House is no longer occupied by the Royal Family, but is often used for entertaining. In May 2018 after the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, their evening reception was held at the House. From Queen Charlotte's country home to hosting Royal wedding receptions.
