20 de jul. de 2023 · Frogmore House and Gardens. Standing about half a mile south of Windsor Castle in Windsor Home Park, Frogmore House has been a Royal Residence since 1792. The original Frogmore House was built in 1680-4 by Charles II 's architect Hugh May for his nephew.
Frogmore House is a 17th-century English country house owned by the Crown Estate. It is a historic Grade I listed building. The house is located on the Frogmore estate, which is situated within the grounds of the Home Park in Windsor, Berkshire.

Frogmore House is located about a mile from Windsor Castle, and has been a royal retreat for more than 300 years. Book tickets and find out about visiting.
The grounds are dominated by the serpentine Frogmore Lake, which enters as a small stream from the north-east, and broadens out to encircle an island lying c 150m west of the house, before continuing in sinuous form southwards, leaving the grounds 200m south-west of the house.
About Frogmore House. Painted by William Leighton Leitch in 1861 ©. Frogmore House, so named due to the large number of frogs in the area originally, stood on the estates of Great and Little Frogmore, which were bought by Henry VIII in the 16th-century.
Frogmore House has been a favourite royal retreat for more than 300 years. It became a royal residence in 1792 when it was bought by George III's wife, Queen Charlotte.
