Georgia is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States. It borders Tennessee to the northwest, North Carolina to the north, South Carolina to the northeast, Florida to the south, and Alabama to the west. Of the 50 United States, Georgia is the 24th-largest by area and 8th most populous.

Georgia is a state in the southeastern part of the United States. It is bordered by Florida to the south, Alabama to the west, Tennessee and North Carolina to the north, and South Carolina to the east. All of Georgia's coastline is on the Atlantic Ocean, which borders Georgia to the southeast. The capital of Georgia is Atlanta .
Georgia is located at approximately 33° N 83.5° W. The state has a total area of 154,077 km 2 (59,489 sq mi) and the geographic center is located in Twiggs County. Georgia has primarily a humid subtropical climate with hot and humid summers, except at the highest elevations.
