  2. Hace 3 días · The Georgian scripts are the three writing systems used to write the Georgian language: Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli. Although the systems differ in appearance, their letters share the same names and alphabetical order and are written horizontally from left to right.

Georgian has no vowel and tone marks to appear above or below base characters, which reduces the complexity of the line content. To give an approximate idea, fig_baselines compares Latin and Georgian glyphs from Noto fonts.

Three types of Georgian scripts were officially presented at the UNESCO Intangible Heritage nomination today, said Georgia’s Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.
