In addition to the exhibition, there is also a café with a view of the lake, a souvenir store with regional products and the Mirow tourist information office.

On 26 March 1813 Frederick Francis I of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin decreed the duchy’s flag to be a horizontal tricolour of blue, yellow, and red, taken respectively from the historical arms of the Lordship of Rostock, the Lordship of Mecklenburg and the County of Schwerin. The tricolour continues to be used as a regional flag.
