Um schwannoma vestibular (neuroma acústico), é um tumor derivado das células de Schwann do VIII nervo craniano. Os sintomas incluem perda auditiva unilateral. O diagnóstico baseia-se na audiometria e é confirmado pela RM. Quando necessário, o tratamento consiste em remoção cirúrgica e/ou radioterapia estereotáxica.
