Helen Taft Manning Hunter (October 5, 1921 – October 17, 2013) [citation needed] Caroline Manning Cunningham (January 18, 1925 - March 23, 2020) [citation needed] Academic career. In 1917, aged only 26, Taft became dean of Bryn Mawr, and served as the college's acting president in 1919.
The Helen Taft Manning papers house the records of Helen Taft Manning. This collection, which dates from 1861 to 1992, with bulk dates of 1915 to 1974, consists of correspondence, writings, clippings, and personal objects from the Manning family.

24 de oct. de 2013 · Helen Manning Hunter, 92, a college professor and the granddaughter of a president of the United States, died Thursday, Oct. 17, of respiratory failure at the Quadrangle in Haverford. Dr. Hunter was both professor emeritus of economics and the Mary Hale Chase professor emeritus of the social sciences at Bryn Mawr College.
This collection can supplement the existing Helen Taft Manning Papers at Bryn Mawr and alongside that collection, constitutes an informative record on the personal and professional career of Helen and Frederick Manning, as well as their peers and colleagues from the political and literary worlds.

First Lady Biography: Helen Taft. HELEN LOUISE "NELLIE" HERRON TAFT. Birth: 2 June, 1861. Cincinnati, Ohio. She was called "Nellie" from childhood on. The nickname served as a further distinction from her daughter Helen. As First Lady, she nevertheless signed correspondence to non-family members as "Helen H."
